When you first start a character you will have the choice of seven different character classes.
You will then have to play that class until you reach level 250. Upon reaching that level, you will have the option of taking a quest allowing you to ‘remort’. This will allow your character to be born again.
In the remort stage, you will get to choose from one of the seven classes in the next tier up. These reflect the seven original classes, but are more powerful than their predecessors. Each new class will retain the skills & spells of the previous matching class (although you will have to re-learn them), but will also receive new skills & spells. also, the original skills & spells will be available to you at a lower level than before. You will also have the option to switch classes at this point to vary your playing style. although, if you start as a mage then switch to a fighter at remort, you will not be as good as a fighter that followed the fighter path at remort because of the gains you made in hit-points & mana in the first incarnation.
When you remort you will keep your current hit-points, mana & moves into the next class, but your level will be set back to 2 (recall the term 'born again'), and you will have to re-learn your skills. Any equipment you are carrying when you remort will be destroyed. So, before you decide to remort, it would be advisable to purchase a locker to store your belongings in whilst you remort & retrieve them afterwards, as your locker & shop (if you have one) will remain in the game. You could get someone to hold your equipment whilst you remort, but they may decide to run off with your eq!
any equipment losses caused by remorting will not be recompensed.
